Golden Age of Film - Classics Of the Studio Era

The Golden Age of Film was the era of the Studio System and the glamourous Film Star, from around 1930 to 1960.  Everything was created with the audience in mind, and the box-office showed it.  Audiences flocked to see Clark Gable, Judy Garland, John Wayne, Humphrey Bogart etc because they knew they'd enjoy the films, not because the publicity was so pushy.
